Nut Protein is High in Spanish Almonds

Nut Protein can sometimes be low, but a high amount of protein is one of the health benefits of almonds and Brazilian nuts have a good amount.

Spanish almonds are more like the original almonds or the ancient version of almonds.

The health benefits of almonds have made it a very popular nut among Vegans and Vegetarians.

Brazilian nuts are one of the greatest sources of selenium and raw macadamia nuts have a much better omega 3 to omega 6 ratio than most other nuts.

The Health Benefits of Almonds

Almonds have some of the highest protein found in nuts with a whooping 20 grams of protein per cup of almonds.

Almonds are also very high in calcium compared to other nuts and are a great source of Vitamin E.

Almonds are also considered an alkaline source of protein.

Health Benefits of Spanish Almonds

Did you know that all almonds commercially grown in California or the U.S.A. are now pasteurized or irradiated?

That means that their nutrients have been compromised.

But wait, there are Spanish Almonds! These almonds are very different from the domestically grown American almonds.

Spanish almonds are pretty much the closest you will get to the original or heirloom almond.

These ancient nuts are more crunchy, sweeter, higher in antioxidants and have a much stronger almond flavor. The American almond is a hybridized version of this more ancient nut.

You can find Raw Spanish Almonds online and you may still be able to buy Raw American Almonds online or at a farmer's market, but make sure it's from a good source.

Brazilian Nuts

Brazilian nuts are grown in the Amazonian Rain Forests of Brazil and other South American Countries.

This nut offers about 13 grams of protein per cup and has the highest selenium content of any other food. It is also a great source of magnesium.

These nuts are considered a complete protein and offer good amounts of very important sulfer containing amino acids.

The fat content of brazilian nuts makes it a more buttery and creamy nut with its high amount of saturated fat compared to other nuts.

This makes it a great nut for nut milk and decadent desserts.

Raw Macadamia Nuts

Raw macadamia nuts are probably my favorite nut. They just taste like "Butter" and I find them more balancing then most other nuts.

Mac nuts are very high in fat and around 80% of that fat is in the form of monounsaturated fats. Macadamia nuts have more monounsaturated fat than olive oil.

They are a good source of the minerals phosphorus, magnesium, calcium and potassium.

They also contain a wide range of B Vitamins and Vitamin E.

Another great thing about raw macadamia nuts is the Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio is pretty good. Most nuts are too high in Omega 6.

Macadamia nut protein contains good amounts of the essential amino acids.
