Raw Granola and How to Dehydrate

Raw granola can be easily made at home with the use of the best dehydrator. Learn how to make granola and you'll never have to buy another box of cereal again!

Learning how to dehydrate foods is a little bit of an art, but once you learn a few tricks - you can start to be a very creative dehydrating chef.

You don't necessarily have to use the best dehydrator, but it will make it a much more pleasant experience.

You can learn how to make granola without the use of a dehydrator as well and make a truly raw cereal.

How to Make Granola

A Granola Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 12 oz. bag of walnuts (soak for 8 hours)
  • 1 cup of golden flax seeds (soak for 8 hours)
  • 1/2 cup of organic raisins (soak for 8 hours in 3/4 to 1 cup of water)
  • 1 cup of fine shredded coconut
  • Handful of shelled hemp seeds
  • 2 tsp. of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. of liquid stevia
Instructions:
  1. Drain water from walnuts.
  2. Puree raisins with soaking water and add vanilla, stevia, and walnuts. Blend in a high speed blender or food processor until desired consistency is reached.
  3. Put this mixture in a big bowl and add gelatinous flax seeds, shredded coconut, and hemp seeds.
  4. Mix until well blended by hand and put onto lined dehydrator trays.
  5. Spread to desired thickness or thinness.
  6. Dehydrate at 105 degrees F and dehydrate until desired crunchiness is achieved (approx. 24 hours).

A Truly Raw Cereal

I love the idea and simplicity of this raw cereal. I do need to caution against the use of soy milk as this milk is full of anti-nutrients that could cause a lot of mineral and protein deficiencies!

There are a number of other vegan milks you can use with your raw cereals.

How to Dehydrate and The Best Dehydrator

You can learn how to make granola using your favorite nuts, seeds, fruits, sprouted grains, and sweeteners. Adding in your favorite spices and flavorings
will make it your very own raw creation.
