How to Find the Best Greek Olive Oil

Greek olive oil is like liquid gold for the Greeks.  They are one of the top producers of Olive oil in the whole world and produce some of the best olive oil.

Both green and golden-yellow olive oil can be Extra Virgin olive oil.

Green olives are more likely to have a bitter or sharp taste which indicates that the olives were not ripe when picked.

And green olive oil will most likely be from green olives that were harvested before the olives had a chance to ripen.

Olive oil that was made from ripe olives will have a more mild and fruity taste.

Golden-yellow olive oil will usually be made from olives that have been allowed to ripen a bit longer.

Very Important!

Find a reputable source of Greek olive oil at a specialty store or shop online for Greek olive oil.

For the best quality Greek olive oil, look for Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a 0.8 acidity level, and make sure it was made in Greece.

Also, look for Pure Greek Olive Oil which has not been adulterated or mixed with any other type of oils.

A lot of the extra-virgin olive oils are not really pure olive oil anymore!
